Reddish-Brown

Description

Bed Bugs are reddish-brown, oval shaped and flat. They hide in sheets, blankets, seams of mattresses, carpet, baseboards, behind wallpaper and in furniture. They venture out at night to feed. Bed bugs can live more than a year and lay up to eight eggs a day.

Bed Bug infestations have spread recently as people travel more. They are found in homes, hotels and even offices and other public places. They will hitch a ride in bedding, clothing, suitcases, and even on you.

Bed Bugs feed on human and animal blood leaving itchy bite marks. Bed Bugs are so small they can be hard to find. If you have bites and see blood marks on your bedding you may have bed bugs.

Control Advice

Inspect your home often, especially after guests or workers. Check under mattresses when traveling and keep your luggage off the floor. Wash clothing or put clothing in a dryer for 20 minutes immediately upon returning home.
